A single thread runs through everything.
Manifesto
Every seam has a reason.
MAISON FOLKARD makes kimono-form coats — architectural outerwear inspired by the structure of the kimono. A Paris house; every coat is sewn in Tbilisi and numbered in Paris. Small runs.
The fabric is chosen by hand at the Grand Bazaar in Istanbul and carried across the border. The journey is part of the coat.
Outside, the coat is quiet. Inside, the lining is loud. It is for the one who wears it — visible only in motion.
One red line of stitching runs down the centre-back seam of every coat — on the outside, from collar to hem. The red thread is the signature.
